Rockwool RS800 pipe insulation is the professional solution for the efficient insulation of your heating pipes. These high-quality, aluminum-clad rock wool pipe shells were specially developed for optimal thermal insulation and vapor retarding of technical pipes.

Technical features & advantages

• Excellent thermal conductivity of 0.035 W/(mK) according to EnEV • Fire protection class A2 (non-combustible) according to DIN EN 13501-1 • Temperature-resistant up to over 1000°C according to DIN 4102-17 • Effective vapor barrier thanks to high-quality aluminum lamination • Slit on the long side for easy installation • Mesh-reinforced, tear-resistant aluminum sandwich lamination

Areas of application

✓ Heating pipes ✓ Hot water pipes ✓ Solar pipes ✓ Cooling pipes

Product advantages

The RS800 pipe shells offer an optimal combination of thermal insulation and soundproofing thanks to their concentrically wound rock wool structure. The robust aluminum lamination also provides reliable vapor retarder protection and protects the insulation from external influences.

Energy efficiency & sustainability

The highly efficient insulation of Rockwool RS800 significantly reduces heat loss and contributes to lower energy costs. As a sustainable stone wool product, it is also environmentally friendly and durable.

Quality Made in Germany

As a premium product from Rockwool, the RS800 represents the highest quality standards and was specifically developed for professional applications. The pipe sections meet all relevant standards and regulations for technical insulation.

Assembly instructions

1. Preparation

  • Pipe surface must be dry and free of contamination
  • Have tools ready: cutter knife, tape measure, adhesive tape

2. Measuring and cutting

  • Measure pipe circumference and required length
  • Cut pipe shell accordingly

3. Assembly

  • Open pipe shell at the existing longitudinal slot
  • Place around the pipe and press the longitudinal slit together
  • Seal the longitudinal seam with aluminum adhesive tape (at least 50 mm wide)

4. Joints

  • Place joints close together
  • Also tape cross seams with aluminum adhesive tape
  • For optimal steam protection, seal all seams carefully

5. Fastening

  • If necessary, attach wire binding or clamp rings at intervals of approx. 30 cm
  • For vertical lines, maintain a distance of max. 5 m between pipe fixings

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: What thickness of insulation do I need for my heating pipes?

A: The required insulation thickness depends on the EnEV (Energy Saving Ordinance) and the pipe diameter. As a rule of thumb, the insulation thickness should be at least equal to the pipe diameter.

Q: Is an additional vapor barrier necessary?

A: No, the aluminum lamination of the RS800 already acts as an effective vapor barrier. An additional vapor barrier is not required.

Q: Can I use the Rockwool RS800 outdoors?

A: For outdoor use, additional weather protection (e.g. sheet metal casing or UV-resistant sheathing) is recommended.

Q: How long does the insulation last?

A: With proper installation and normal operating conditions, the RS800 has a service life of several decades.

Q: Is the processing also suitable for DIY enthusiasts?

A: Yes, thanks to the existing longitudinal slot and the ease of use, installation is possible even for experienced DIYers. However, we recommend a professional for more complex installations.

Processing tips

For optimal insulation performance, we recommend professional installation, taking the installation guidelines into account. Pay particular attention to the careful sealing of all seams to avoid thermal bridges.

Safety instructions

  • Wear protective gloves and long-sleeved clothing when processing
  • Ensure adequate ventilation in enclosed spaces
  • Minimize dust generation and use respiratory protection if necessary
  • Dispose of cut parts properly
